Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy — is a process of a co-work with the psychotherapist for restoring mental and emotional state. Psychotherapy is also used to cope with elevated stress levels and for support in times of hardship, e.g. after job loss or divorce.

There is an opinion that only mentally ill people turn to a psychotherapist. This is not true. Psychiatrists deal with severe mental disorders and their main tool is medicines. The psychotherapist is usually approached by healthy people who want to cope with sadness, depression, feelings of helplessness, get rid of fears and anxieties, improve relationships with people, that is, get rid of problems that prevent them from living fully. I do not use medications in my practice and relying solely on drug-free methods.

At the end of therapy, the patient often not only copes with his problems but also acquires new skills that make it easier to cope with the difficulties that arise in the future. The decision to turn to a psychotherapist can be the first step to a better version of yourself.

What do I treat?

Most often people come to me when they suffer from depression, anxiety, fear or panic attacks. My biggest expertise is in dealing with depression and panic attacks. Over the years of practice I have developed my own methods in this field that provide good results. I am also often addressed in connection with difficulties in the family and at work, while experiencing the loss of loved ones. As a mother of a child with special needs, I know from my own experience what difficulties parents of special children experience. In addition to individual work with such parents, I organize group sessions. The charity foundation “Be with me”, founded by me, took part in the creation of the children’s educational center “Rozmovlyayko”. Its purpose is to help children with speech disorders.

Gestalt therapy

Gestalt therapy is an approach in psychotherapy that allows patients to focus on the present and understand what is happening in their life right now and not perceive what is happening from past experience. Gestalt therapy emphasizes the importance of living in the present, taking responsibility for your life, and also aims to work with “unfinished tasks” that create problems in the present. An important part of the process of gestalt therapy is working with human needs, their implementation for continuous growth and personal development. This type of psychotherapy can be used both short-term and long-term, depending on the needs and complexity of the problem. Often, those who face life problems, are hesitant to contact a psychotherapist. Gestalt therapy may be the best answer in such cases, as it is the least intrusive for the patient and is based on compassion and empathy.

How does the therapy work

Working with a patient begins with an initial meeting, which allows you to find out whether there is a need for therapy and in what direction it is worth working to resolve the problem. On average, consultation lasts 50-60 minutes. Therapy usually lasts from 10 sessions. The best effect is achieved with weekly consultations, thus the whole therapy lasts from several months. Sometimes it can be several years when there is a good response of the patient to therapy, which allows to constantly improve quality of life over a long period of time. For some, gestalt therapy becomes a permanent source of energy and resources. Consultation can be held in person as well as remotely using Skype. In addition to individual meetings, I conduct group seminars on the topics of psychotherapy and the psychology of money. The schedule can be found in the “Programs” section of this site.
