Individual work

I work with psychological sustainability — how people stay whole, ethical, and alive while living inside complexity, responsibility, money, and choice.

My work is not organised around diagnosis or pathology. It focuses on how individuals and systems sustain meaning, contact, and decision-making over time — without burnout, self-betrayal, or collapse.

What I work with

Psychological sustainability explores how human beings function inside demanding systems — families, leadership roles, institutions, caregiving, financial responsibility, migration, and long-term projects.

I work at the intersection of:

  • decision-making in complex conditions
  • identity under responsibility
  • relational contact and boundaries
  • money, meaning, and financial responsibility as psychological and relational processes
  • ethics, values, and inner coherence

Questions around money, work, income, and financial responsibility often become central themes within individual psychological work, as they touch identity, values, limits, and decision-making under pressure.

How I work

I use process-oriented psychological models to help people recognise real needs, mobilise energy, make decisions, and complete actions in a sustainable way.

One of the core frameworks I work with is the Gestalt Cycle of Experience — a model that describes how needs emerge, how choices are made, and where energy becomes blocked or depleted.

This model is a practical tool for:

  • understanding decision fatigue
  • clarifying priorities
  • recognising false or imposed needs
  • completing projects without exhaustion
  • restoring contact with self and others

Nervous system support (when relevant)

In some cases, individual work is supported by nervous system regulation approaches.
When attention, emotional regulation, or a sense of safety are significantly strained, I may integrate polyvagal-informed support, including the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP), as part of the individual process.

This work is not used as a standalone solution, but to support capacity for reflection, contact, and decision-making when anxiety or heightened physiological arousal significantly interfere with these processes. It is introduced only when appropriate and always embedded within a broader psychological and relational framework.

Who this work is for

This work is for people who:

  • carry responsibility (personal, professional, or relational)
  • want to think, not be fixed
  • are facing decisions around money, identity, or direction
  • value depth, reflection, and ethical clarity

Format of work

1. Initial conversation

The work begins with a single orientation session (50–60 minutes).

This meeting is used to:

  • clarify the question or situation you are facing
  • assess whether this way of working is appropriate
  • decide whether to proceed, and in what format

There is no obligation to continue beyond this meeting.

2. Individual work

If we decide to continue after the initial conversation, we usually meet regularly.

Sessions are typically held once a week or once every two weeks, depending on the person’s context, capacity, and the nature of the work at that time.

The work is relational and process-based and unfolds over time, alongside real life.

The pace and duration of the work are reviewed periodically and adjusted as circumstances change.

Sessions last 50–60 minutes and are conducted online via Zoom.

2a. Short-term individual nervous system support (SSP)

In some situations, individual work may take the form of a short-term, focused intervention aimed at nervous system stabilisation.

This format is based on polyvagal-informed principles and may include the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP). It is typically offered as a time-limited programme when the primary need is to restore basic capacity for regulation, attention, and a felt sense of safety.

This work does not replace psychological or relational work. It may function as:

  • preparation for deeper individual work, or
  • a standalone, short-term intervention when long-term work is not indicated.

Details of the individual SSP programme are available here.

3. Suitability

This work is intended for people who are:

  • functioning in daily life
  • able to reflect, take responsibility, and make decisions
  • seeking depth, clarity, and sustainable ways of working and living

If this is not the right fit, this is usually clear from the first conversation.

If you feel that this way of working may be relevant for you, you are welcome to contact me to discuss the format of online consultation.
